Abstract
This research, titled “Usul al-Fiqh Issues in the Verse: {Mothers shall breastfeed their children for two full years for whoever wishes to complete the nursing}”, explores a set of Usul al-Fiqh (principles of Islamic Jurisprudence) issues derived by scholars from this noble verse. The importance of this study lies in its close connection to the Qur’an, the primary source of Islamic legislation and the foundation of all principles. The verse encompasses approximately ten foundational issues in Usul al-Fiqh, including: commands and prohibitions, general and specific expressions, the various modes of textual indication (explicit meaning and allusion), as well as topics related to ijtihad (independent reasoning) and customary practice (urf). The researcher has collected these issues from classical works of tafsir (Qur’anic exegesis) and usul, and analyzed them through a principled, analytical approach, aiming to highlight the jurisprudential significance of the Qur’anic text in shaping Islamic legal rulings. The research is structured into an introduction, three main chapters, and a conclusion that presents the key findings of the study.
