Abstract
The field of organisation behaviour has attracted attention on various issues and research interests as organisations are gradually developing and changing in today’s business environment. The emergence of unique research niches in the field of organisation behaviour brings forward a question of how these studies are shaped. The aim of this study is to examine how the research niches in doctoral theses that are one of the most essential parts within Turkish organization behaviour literature are determined, to scrutinize these doctoral theses on the basis of their content and method, to state their contribution to Turkish organisational behaviour literature. In this regard, 358 doctoral theses in the field of organisational behaviour were investigated. The analysis reveals that the doctoral theses in our sample focus on leadership (82), organisation commitment (74), satisfaction (63) and organisational culture (63) respectively. The doctoral theses mostly used survey (%65.7) as the main research methodology, questionnaire (%88.9) as a data collection tool. Additionally, doctoral theses predominantly focused on white-collar employees (%71.7). Finally, based on the research findings, the methods and the contents adopted by the doctoral theses were discussed in terms of their contribution to theory building and implications.
