Abstract
In the context of increasingly digital and interconnected workplaces, workplace incivility has become a pervasive yet often overlooked threat to organizational well-being and productivity. Characterized by subtle, low-intensity behaviors such as exclusion, rudeness, and passive aggression, incivility erodes morale, fosters emotional exhaustion, and undermines employee engagement. Traditional human resource mechanisms often fail to detect these behaviors due to their ambiguity and inconsistency, especially in hybrid or remote work settings.In response, this study explores the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in identifying, managing, and mitigating workplace incivility. Through applications such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), predictive analytics, virtual HR assistants, and bias detection algorithms, AI can detect early signs of toxic behavior, support timely interventions, and promote fairness and transparency in workplace practices.Beyond mitigation, AI has the potential to enhance employee performance by fostering psychological safety, enabling real-time feedback, and delivering personalized wellness support. Moreover, the integration of AI in workplace culture encourages intrapreneurship by creating inclusive environments where creativity, risk-taking, and knowledge sharing are supported. In settings where incivility weakens traditional mentorship and collaboration, AI-driven learning platforms offer personalized, self-paced development, while VR simulations help build conflict resolution and emotional intelligence skills. Ethical concerns—such as data privacy, transparency, consent, and the need for human oversight—are also addressed to ensure responsible deployment of AI technologies.This paper concludes that when strategically and ethically applied, AI can serve not only as a tool for monitoring and intervention but as a catalyst for creating civil, innovative, and skill-nurturing workplaces. A sociotechnical approach—balancing AI innovation with ethical leadership and inclusive organizational culture—is essential to realizing AI's full potential in transforming modern work environments.
