Abstract
The study investigated the relationship between Academic Anxiety, Academic Stress and Academic achievement among NCE II Students of Sa’adatu Rimi Collage of Education, Kano State. The population to this this study is 574 which comprised all NCE II students in the study area. A sample of 215NCE II students were randomly selected by using a simple random sampling techniques, fromthe department of Education Sa’adatu Rimi Collage of Education. Two research objectives were formulated to guide the study andtwo research hypotheses were tested using data inferential statistical tool PPMC. Two types of instruments were used for data collection:Academic stress questionnaire, Academic anxiety questionnaire. The instruments reliability indices were established using Cronbach alpha procedure for establishing reliability of internal consistency with obtain alpha value of 0.77 for academic stress, 0.72 for academic anxiety, Academic achievement was taken from the students’ previous examinations CGPA. Data generated from these instruments were correlated using Pearson Product Moment Correlation statistical technique.The findings of the study revealed that academic anxiety does not correlate with students’ academic achievement, this means that the level of students’. It also proves that academic stress does not correlates with students’ academic achievement, meaning that academic stress affect students’ academic achievement. It was recommended that various strategies should be employed to reduce the level of academic stress,academic anxiety and proper counseling to motivate students for better academic achievement.
