Abstract
This paper looked into youth empowerment through ethical and value education for sustainable engagement and outcome. Education at every level is considered important for the development of a nation and for empowering its people to contribute to its growth. No country can expect to successfully integrate in and benefit from the 21st century economy without a well-educated and empowered workforce who in this context are the youths. This is essential because the future success of Nigerian communities depends on youths who are well-prepared and equipped to take part in tomorrow’s world. Every responsible government designs national policies for both present and future growth, proving that it cares about the youth’s future. The study examined the following concepts; education, youth empowerment, importance of youth empowerment. It also looked at ethics, values, importance of ethics and values in education, and purpose of ethics and values in education, and the values to be incalcated, as well as sustainability, and national development. The study concluded that besides getting a degree, education should also focus on teaching values that help build character and improve society. It therefore recommended amongst others that government should ensure that education is of high quality and includes entrepreneurship programmes.
