Abstract
With the advent of quantum computing, traditional cryptographic systems face potential vulnerabilities. Quantum cryptography, leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics, offers a promising solution to secure communication networks. This paper explores the integration of quantum cryptographic techniques, particularly Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), into next-generation communication systems. We discuss the foundational principles of quantum cryptography, its advantages over classical methods, and the challenges associated with its implementation. Additionally, we examine the current state of quantum cryptography research in Pakistan and propose a roadmap for its adoption in the country's communication infrastructure
