Abstract
ABSTRACT : Trimulyo w aters is one of the waters in Semarang that becoming domestic and industrial waste sewage and many of green mussels are found and still consumed. The purpose of this study is to determine the content of iron (Fe) in water, sediment and green mussel (P. viridis) and to find out its polution level Trimulyo waters, Semarang. This study was conducted on January 11, 2016 to March 15, 2016 using case study method. Iron (Fe) found in sample of water, sediments and mussels were analyzed in Balai Besar Teknologi Pencegahan Pencemaran Industri (BTPPI) Semarang using AAS method (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry). C oncentration of iron (Fe) in Trimulyo waters has an undetected value on each stations, which is <0.001 mg/L. While in sediment varies from 1.96 to 3.30 mg/kg and 150.93 to 153.64 mg/kg in green mussel (P. viridis). Waters quality in the water column and sediment have not exceed the limit of quality standard according to Peraturan Pemerintah No. 82 tahun 2001 and the 2003 Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources respectively, while green mussel (P. viridis) has passed the quality standard by Badan Standarisasi Nasional (BSN) tahun 2009: Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) No. 7387 about the maximum contamination amount of heavy metals in food.
