Abstract
Özet: Bu çalışmada Konya civarından toplanan Centaurea Carduiformis DC. subsp. 'u yağından uzaklaştırılmak için sokslet apareyi ile petrol eterinde ekstrakte edildi. Sonra materyal %70 lik metanolde tekrar ekstraksiyona tabi tutuldu ve çözücüsünden uzaklaştırılarak liyofilize edildi. Antioksidan aktivitesi ölçülene kadar +4 oC de karanlıkta muhafaza edildi. Toplam fenolik madde konsantrasyonu gallik asit standardına göre Folin-Ciocalteu metoduna, serbest radikal süpürme etkisi DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil radikali) metoduna göre ve indirgeme gücü ise Oyaizu metoduna göre yapıldı. Sonuçlar sentetik antioksidan olan BHT (Butillenmiş Hidroksi Toluen)ve BHA (Butillenmiş HidroksiAnisol) ile kıyaslandı. Sonuçlara bakıldığında antioksidan aktivitesi yönünden sıralama yaparsak BHA >BHT>C.Carduiformis şeklinde olduğu görüldü.

DETERMINATION OF ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF CENTAUREA CARDUIFORMIS
Abstract: In this study, Centaurea Carduiformis DC. subsp. which was collected in region of Konya was extracted with petroleum ether using a soxhleth apparatus for remove it's oil. Then the defatted plant materials were extracted with 70% methanol.and the extract was then filtered and concentrated in vacuo at 45 oC. Finally, the extract was lyophilized and kept in the dark at +4 oC until tested analyzed for antioxidant activity. Total phenol concentration of the extracts was estimated with Folin-Ciocalteu reagent using gallic acid as standard, free radical scavenging activities were determined based on DPPH and determined reducing power based on Oyaizu method. Results were compared with standard BHA and BHT, As a result, BHA,BHT and plant' antioxidant activities were determined; BHA >BHT>C.Carduiformis
