Abstract
The concept of cultural memory plays a pivotal role in the artistic expressions of diaspora communities, reflecting collective identity, heritage, and resilience. This article examines how diaspora communities preserve and transform their cultural memory through art, focusing on how memory, identity, and place are interconnected in diasporic artistic practices. Using a multidisciplinary approach, we analyze visual, performance, and multimedia art from various diaspora groups, highlighting the ways in which these communities negotiate cultural memory and identity in foreign contexts. Through case studies, theoretical analysis, and visual data, this article explores the role of art as a vessel of cultural memory, illuminating the shared experiences, challenges, and hopes of displaced communities.
