Abstract
Various research reported contradicting results about what the effective strategies that coaches use to improve their athletes’ performance are. Given that coaches have an influential role towards molding every athlete, it made the researcher interested in studying experienced Collegiate Sports Organization coaches’ views on coaching strategies and coaching efficacy. The research used a case study design and organized one-on-one semi-structured interviews with 4 women's football coaches and assistants from multiple universities. The criteria for the participant includes: 5 years of coaching experience in women’s football. Through thematic analysis, the results showed that coaches command respect and use verbal aggression, as well as being aware of athlete cognition and coach presence. In addition, coaches place importance in coach-athlete relationships inside and outside the field. Lastly, coaches value research and adaptability.
