Abstract
The study investigates the industrial applicability and performance of a flame cutting speed controller using neural network and computer vision. Backpropagation training algorithm is used to train the neural network. The networks learned from a set of training data derived from images of steel plates and were tested using computer simulation. Results showed that the controller is able to classify the required cutting speed with accurate results.
