Abstract
Quality is an important consideration meeting the expectations of customers in an efficient manner. There are certain developments that can be integrated to enhance the services and functions specifically in quality assurance. It is true that application of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) had evolved to various improvements and one area is Computer Aided Quality Assurance (CAQA), which is ensured by computerized planning and monitoring and control of processes, parts and products throughout all phases of the product life cycle. This is a branch of study that can be correlated and integrated with the Database Management System (DBMS), which includes computer storage and processing that implies the benefits of data gathering and data management. The study develops the experimental software which was integrated to improve CAQA with the application of Database Management System. This was seen as a means to be more equipped with the requirements to enhance data collection and management to increase its productivity, efficiency and reliability. This study leads to exploration of ideas applicable to improve and further develop the system and to investigate on how the system can be useful in quantification and monitoring of data having consistency, security and accessibility on various information. The study have utilized and applied modeling tools such as the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing Definition (IDEF). These were valuable tools which provided a systematic process flow and enhanced data structure presentation models on integrating improvements achieving the design and implementation of Database Management System, which primarily led to incorporate the experimental software to help meets new challenges. These methods combined with other engineering techniques such as programming language and tools like Visual Basic and Microsoft Access facilitates comprehensive approach for the structured capture of knowledge. Keywords: Computer Aided Quality Assurance, Database Management System, UML, IDEF, Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
