Abstract
The study is made to develop a monitoring system for a vertical environmental chamber. The monitoring system includes the visualization of power consumption of the vertical chambers, solar power generation, solar panel health detection, battery state of charge, comparison of power generated with power consumed by the environmental chamber, and the analysis of power generated as well as power used. In addition, a side study of the importance of solar tilt angle was also studied in relation with power monitoring. This is shown by the use of mathematical equations and data gathering of actual solar power generation at the location. Furthermore, the study also provides background for building a solar power system. Also the overview of the equipment and the general setup of the power system of the project. Moreover, theoretical and actual solar sizing was calculated in the research. By using data that were gathered for months the study also provides an examination of the average effective sunlight hours at the location. Lastly, the study was a success since all the needed data and data representation was included for the monitoring of power for the project. But future study can be made to further improve the power monitoring system but this is a foundation for the studies yet to come.
