Abstract
This study shall examine the treaties, laws and case laws of the European Union on the free movement of persons which can be adopted by the ASEAN, creating similar or better outcomes for its regional political, social, economic and cultural integration. The movement of natural persons poses a challenge as it is not limited to economic and political concerns--but also human rights. The researchers found that there should be a stronger legislation at the ASEAN region level of integration for the protection of not only highly skilled professionals but also low skilled migrant workers and undocumented workers since they are not apprised of their rights and their lack of education and legal know-how prevents them from protecting themselves.
