Abstract
Gamit ang semiolohiya ni Roland Barthes, sinuri ng disertasyong ito ang walong pelikula ng Cinemalaya na may temang LGBTQ+. Ipinakita ng disertasyon ang nagtatalabang ideolohiya at kontra-ideolohiyang diskurso, kaisipan, pananaw, at sitwasyon mula sa mga pelikulang napili. Ilan sa mga ideolohiyang nakita sa mga pelikula ay ang mga sumusunod: Musculine-femine Ascendancy, Internalized Negative Image of Their Own Sexual Identity, Victimization, LGBTQ+ bilang Nakadidiring Sakit, Ang LGBTQ+ ay Isang Personal na Desisyon, Down-low Lifestyle, at Namumuhay ang mga LGBTQ+ ng Hedonistikong Buhay. Ilan sa mga kontra-ideolohiyang lumutang sa mga pelikula ay ang mga sumusunod: Born this Way, Gay-Straight Alliance, Identification with the Other, Positive Identity Formation, at Mis-Identification. Liban sa mga ideolohiya at kontra-ideolohiyang ito, may tatlong mahahalagang obserbasyon ang mananaliksik, una, ambivalent at/o paradoxical ang presentasyon ng LGBTQ+ sa mga pelikula; multivoice ang mga pelikula; at pangatlo, mayroong patuloy na polarisasyon sa pagitan ng homosekswal at heterosekswal.
