Abstract
Leap of Faith is a short, melodramatic fictional narrative that revolves around social media influencer Faith Trinidad on her last day in Siargao. She fulfills her bucket list amidst the island's beautiful scenery, yet something still feels missing. When her tour guide, Kuya Fil, urges her to participate in a local tradition and jump off the Catangnan Bridge, she firmly declines. As Faith’s inner conflicts and true colors lead her to embarrassment, she turns to her mother for solace, hoping she will provide the answer she’s been longing for.
Faith Trinidad’s journey delves into the exploration of authenticity in the context of social media's influence, examining the inconsistencies between online personas and real-life experiences. By crafting Faith’s character, the proponents aim to tackle social media's impact on human authenticity and showcase the complexities of the contemporary digital age of false online personas. Leap of Faith’s cinematic elements - from the dialogue to the visual effects – were incorporated to immerse their viewers in Faith Trinidad’s emotional narrative arc.
