Abstract
Krayola ni Jhaypee, a 20-minute short film, delves into childhood dreams, survival, and sacrifices within urban poverty. The story follows the life of Jhaypee, a 10-year-old child, and his 72-year-old grandmother, Lola Presing, residing inside the cemetery. The film explores the psychological and emotional landscapes of a child stuck in the cycle of poverty, showcasing how he navigates socioeconomic challenges that further affect his perception of reality, forcing him to choose between his dreams and survival. /="/">/="/">This film aims to transform the discourse from viewing poverty as a tragedy to understanding it as a multifaceted human experience as it highlights cemetery dwellers’ struggles, perseverance, and resilience.
