Abstract
The study aimed to evaluate the existing Key Performance Indicators of the LRT Line 1 and provide a policy recommendation to improve the project performance and monitoring procedure of the train system. This was done through review of related literature and various guidelines from different light rail systems outside the country. The results indicate that the LRT-1 KPIs can benefit by adjusting some of their definitions to accurately depict demand-to capacity attributes, and include additional KPIs for environmental impact, and finance. Included in the recommendations are data gathering methods to acquire passenger demand, which was found to be a key component lacking in the existing KPIs. The proposed adjustments and additional KPIs may also be adopted to new light rail transit systems.
