Abstract
The element of humor has always been present in creative literature because it is human instinct to laugh when happy.Comedy is an essential part of human nature. Man finds a way to laugh during serious matters of life. In literature, there was a tradition of Comedy drama along with ancient Greek tragedy. At first the purpose of humor was simply to make people laugh, but in the modern era, a new form of humor, black humor, has highlighted many psychological and existential confusions of the human mind. Artists have taken this new way to avoid the harsh description of the human situation in modern societies. In Urdu literature, the stories of Muhammad Salim Rahman can be seen in this regard. and have come to the conclusion that the absurdity of the confused character is disturbing. The characters of these various stories are examined in terms of how the characters, who are dismissed as ridiculous, turn out to be tragic. This article covers this duality. The character's cut off from the society is actually the reason for the creation of black humor. The author covers this situation in these stories. In this article, the funny elements that arise as a result of the complex nature of the characters and the society's indifference are examined in the context of black humor.
