Abstract
The reactions K−p→K¯Nπ at 1.33 GeVc are found to be dominated by K¯*(890)N production. Some evidence is also found for N*(1236)K¯ and Y0*(1520)π production. Slight amounts of Y1*(1765)π are seen. An investigation of the angular distributions of events in the K¯*(890) mass region was made. A backward peaking exists in the production angular distribution of K¯*−p→K¯0π−p. No evidence for this backward peaking is found in the other K¯*N final states. Both production and the decay angular distributions of the K¯*(890) indicate that the K¯*0n final state can be explained by an exchange of a pseudoscalar meson of small mass. In the K¯*−p final states, the exchange of an isotopic spin-zero vector meson as well as a pseudoscalar meson explain the data.
