Abstract
The pathogenesis of hMPV-associated LRTI that results in hospitalization of both HIV-infected and -uninfected children involves bacterial coinfection with pneumococcus, and a significant proportion of these hospitalizations may be prevented by vaccination with pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.
