Abstract
A case of Hodgkin's disease who developed a megaloblastic anemia following treatment with Vinblastine sulfate is presented. The causal relationship is discussed. This case was also interesting for following reasons: 1. In this patient, Hodgkin's disease was heralded by pure red cell aplasia. 2. Phytohaemagglutinin was used for the treatment of pure red cell aplasia and for the correction of leukopenia which occured during nitrogen mustard therapy, with partial success in the former and complete success in the latter instances.
