Abstract
Pastoral beekeeping imply carefully selection of the hive type because of the highcosts of this type of exploitation. The hives must be able to produce a high amount ofhoney to compensate with the production costs. In this paper we made a study forestablishing the necessary hive type to be used in pastoral beekeeping. Three hivetypes were used (horizontal, multileveled and vertical) during the linden andsunflower harvests. The study showed the utility of using the last hive type for thiskind of beekeeping.
