Abstract
El artículo analiza el resurgimiento del liberalismo en México entre 1990 y 2012. Explica las razones que llevaron a numerosos intelectuales públicos a definirse como liberales o a adoptar las banderas del liberalismo, tales como la defensa de los derechos individuales frente a los reclamos del multiculturalismo, la profundización de las reformas estructurales en la economía, la defensa del constitucionalismo, la liberalización de sectores críticos como el petróleo, la liber tad de expresión plena, incluyendo la libertad de manifestar las opiniones políticas durante las campañas electorales. A su vez, estudia los efectos ideológicos de la transición a la democracia en el renacimiento del liberalismo mexicano.
