Abstract
This research deals with the Legal Education in Brazil and social emancipation for education, focusing on the formation of citizen person. Some problems are pointed out, as the paradigmatic crisis in the educational field; teaching practices unsuitable to meet the demands of a changing society; the fragmentation of knowledge observed through the disciplines and departments; and propaedeutical subjects placed in the background in favor of the subjects of vocational education. Because it is a descriptive and exploratory study, it is developed based on the literature and historical research, and uses the inductive method.
