Abstract
Este artigo aborda a questão da participação social no Brasil a partir do final dos anos 80 coma edição da nova Constituição Federal, focando a análise no processo de repercussão midiática que a edição do Decreto Federal Nº 8.243/14, que cria a Política Nacional de Participação Social - PNPS e o Sistema Nacional de Participação Social – SNPS, desencadeou. Além da discussão sobre os mecanismos de participação social no Brasil a partir de uma contextualização histórica, explora-se aqui o debate e posicionamentos sobre o Decreto e sua repercussão nos meios de comunicação.
