Abstract
Continuamente estamos sometidos a un enorme flujo de información a la que no podemos prestar atención en su totalidad, y que debe ser filtrada por un mecanismo básico. El contenido emocional de la información es clave en este proceso, de manera que aquello que es potencialmente peligroso atrae nuestra atención para poder ser afrontado con prontitud, al mismo tiempo que nos permite un mejor recuerdo de la información que nos será de utilidad en situaciones similares. En este sentido, podríamos decir que la atracción por lo negativo es un requerimiento adaptativo de alerta y prevención.
