Abstract
Neste trabalho, reunimos informações sobre o avanço das pesquisas dialetais e geolinguísticas em nosso país, particularmente, no Ceará. Nos últimos tempos, novos projetos surgiram, dentre eles, o Projeto Atlas Linguístico do Brasil – ALiB, que desde o seu início tem impulsionado pesquisadores ligados a instituições de ensino superior (IES) de vários pontos do território nacional, a divulgarem a investigação voltada para a variação diatópica ou espacial (regional), diastrática (social), diagenérica (sexo), diageracional (faixa etária), visando a um maior conhecimento do português do Brasil e de sua história.
