Abstract
Se acerca el año 2000: el 'fin del mundo'. Una gran cantidad de profecías así lo recogen y a lo largo de muchos años se nos ha bombardeado con esta posibilidad de desaparición de la especie humana, tanto a través de medios escritos como audiovisuales. En la actualidad, se crean sectas que se preparan para el final, la televisión emite programas sobre desastres de diferente envergadura que potencian el desasosiego general, las publicaciones realizan encuestas del tipo: ¿cómo cree usted que va a llegar el fin del mundo?, mientras las revistas especializadas publican estudios sobre la validez científica de esas creencias.
