Abstract

Abstract

This paper discusses representations of the german-brasilian-evangelical teaching involved in a specific program for teaching education, in this group, from 1909 to 1938. The discussion is based on women's studies, cultural studies and post-structuralism. I have used the strategies of articulation and desconstruction to analyse periodicals impressed in this period: the Deutsche Post journal, the Kalender für die Deutschen in Brasilien Almanac and the Allgemeine Lehrerzeitung für Rio Grande do Sul journal. This analysis has shown how the german nationality and the Brasilian citizenship - two of the most important and conflicting marks of this culture - were inscribed and mobilised in this cultural identity.

Keywords: cultural studies, representation, teaching identity.
