Abstract
La válvula tricúspide ha sido tradicionalmente relegada a un segundo plano. Aunque en la mayoría de los casos se afecta de forma secundaria a una valvulopatía izquierda, se sabe que puede contribuir a agravar e incluso condicionar la clínica y el pronóstico de los enfermos valvulares. El presente artículo repasa, desde el punto de vista práctico, la anatomía tricúspide, sus relaciones y fisiopatología para un correcto tratamiento y abordaje quirúrgico.
