This subject is becoming increasingly popular among students and is discussed from an educational, didactic as well as a methodological perspective. All this has been the engine for scientific research in linguistic and cultural mediation. Based on current studies, a further investigation in linguistic and cultural mediation is made to help better defining both this discipline and its potentials as well as offering considerable help in planning out research, didactics and education programs. A short analysis of those university curricula where linguistic mediation is a subject is also provided. Two case studies are also discussed: public university vs. private university.
