Abstract
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Maret hingga Desember 2009 di muara sungai Musi Sumatera Selatan, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi jenis dan biomasa stok sumber daya ikan di Sungai Banyuasin, Propinsi Sumatera Selatan. Pengambilan sampel dilaksanakan sebanyak dua kali, yaitu pada Maret dan Juni 2009. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan dengan metode observasi lapangan pada 6 stasiun pengambilan contoh yang mewakili perairan Sungai Banyuasin. Biomasa stok ikan diduga dari hasil percobaan penangkapan dengan pukat hela. Komposisi jenis ikan di Sungai Banyuasin pada Maret sebesar 72 jenis dan Juni sebesar 81 jenis,sedangkan secara keseluruhan jumlah jenis ikan yang dijumpai di Sungai Banyuasin sebanyak 92 jenis yang terdiri dari 72 jenis ikan, 1 coelenterata dan 19 jenis krustacea (udang dan kepiting). Hasil tangkapan dengan menggunakan pukat hela diperoleh data hasil tangkapan persatuan area pada Maret berkisar 10-119 kg/km2 dan Juni berkisar 4-45 kg/km2, sedangkan total biomassa ikan di perairan Sungai Banyuasin sekitar 6,1 ton pada Maret dan 17,6 ton pada Juni.
A Field study in order to investigate fish composition and biomass stock of fish resources of Banyuasin River was conducted from March to December 2009. Fish samples were collected in March and June 2009 at 6 sampling sites in Banyuasin river set up based on difference in micro habitat. Fish were collected by using mini trawl experiment and from daily record of fishermen using different fishing gears. Results indicate that fish catch in March and June was composed of 72 and 81 fish species respectively, and the total fish species record was 92 species consist 72 species of fish, 1 species of coelenterate and 19 species of crustacea. The total of biomass of fish resource in Banyuasin river was estimated about 17,6 ton in March and 6,1 ton in June.
