Abstract
A cidade de Parnamirim/ RN é abastecida por água subterrânea oriunda do aqüífero Dunas/ Barreiras. A qualidade da água desse aqüífero tem sido ameaçada pelo desordenado crescimento urbano, e pela ausência de um sistema eficaz de saneamento básico. O presente trabalho buscou a averiguação da qualidade da água servida à população por meio do sistema de abastecimento público, através da análise de parâmetros físico-químicos básicos. O que ficou constatado foi à necessidade de melhorias no saneamento básico do município em questão.
