Abstract
This article deals with the repertory of French vocal music composed during the First World War and the influence of the historical context on both textual and musical levels. In order to determine characteristics that will enable us to analyze these works in the European musical context of the early twentieth century, it is important to examine how these artists experienced this period and which procedures they employed in the composition of such works.
