El Femicidio En Chile Y América Latina: Enfoques Y Aportes De La Psicología Social

RESUMEN La violencia de género tiene su expresión más extrema en el femicidio, el que usualmente es la culminación de sucesivos hechos de abuso y agresión del hombre contra la mujer. La Psicología Social inicialmente explicó esta violencia desde una perspectiva biológica y ambiental; luego incluyó explicaciones interpersonales y grupales, y a partir del enfoque crítico feminista emerge una explicación basada en el orden social, argumentando que la estructura de distribución asimétrica del poder, sustentada en la diferencia de género- el patriarcado- sería la responsable de esta violencia. Desde otra perspectiva, los enfoques relativistas, tal como el construccionismo social y el constructivismo radical , explican el fenómeno de la violencia a partir de una construcción de los miembros de la sociedad, presciendiendo de una explicación a priori. En este artículo se hace una revisión del femicidio en Chile y Latinoamérica, examinando los aportes de la psicología social crítica (enfoque feminista), el construccionismo social y el constructivismo radical para la comprensión y elaboración de alternativas de solución al problema de la violencia de género y el femicidio.   ABSTRACT The gender violence has its more extreme expression in femicide, the one that usually is the culmination of successive facts of abuse and aggression from men against the women. Social Psychology initially explained this violence from a biological and environmental perspective; soon it included interpersonal and group explanations, and, from feminist critical approach, it emerges other explanation based on the social order, arguing that the structure of asymmetric distribution of the power, sustained on gender differences - based on patriarchy - would be the cause of such violence. From another perspective, the relativists approaches, such as social construccionism and radical constructivism, explain the phenomenon of the violence based on the construction of members of the society, prescinding of an a priori explanation. In this article a revision in femicide in Chile and Latin America is made, examining the contributions of critical social psychology (feminist approach), the social construccionism and the radical constructivism for the understanding and elaboration of alternatives of solution to the problem of gender violence and femicide.
