Abstract
Este trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar qualitativa e quantitativamente as espécies de coleópteros que ocorrem associados à vegetação de cerrado na baixada cuiabana. Em uma área de preservação permanente, foram instaladas, a 1,5 m do nível do solo, seis armadilhas de impacto, modelo escolitídeo-Curitiba, iscadas com álcool. Foram capturados 2.111 indivíduos, distribuídos em oito famílias, 24 gêneros e 37 espécies. As espécies mais representativas foram: Hypothenemus obscurus (Fabricius), 1801; Cryptocarenus heveae (Hagedorni), 1912; Cryptocarenus diadematus Eggers, 1937; Cryptocarenus seriatus Eggers, 1933 e Hypothenemus eruditus Westwood, 1836. Ocorreram, dezenove espécies dominantes, cinco constantes, 21 acidentais e dezoito raras. O índice de diversidade foi considerado alto (H’ = 0,77), mostrando um ambiente, ainda, ecologicamente equilibrado.
