Abstract
El propósito del presente artículo es mostrar cómo los principios teóricos y metodológicos del paradigma histórico-comparativo de la “ciencia del lenguaje” sirvieron de herramientas de legitimación y validación científica de las pretensiones de intelectuales y políticos colombianos de erigirse en intérpretes y vigías privilegiados de la “lengua pura” y del “bien hablar” como elementos configurativos de un discurso reaccionario formulado como respuesta a la amenaza percibida en los gobiernos liberales del llamado “Olimpo radical”.   Abstract   This article attempts to show how the methodological and theoretical principles of the historical-comparative paradigm of the “science of language” were instrumentalized by Colombian politicians and intellectuals to present themselves as privileged watchers and interpreters of “pure language” and “correct speaking”, two central elements of the conservative cultural reaction to liberal reforms during the so called “Olimpo Radical”.
