Abstract
Son múltiples las aplicaciones que, desde la biotecnología, se han desarrollado y que actualmente forman parte de la práctica médica: Bioimágenes, diagnóstico molecular, ingeniería tisular, ingeniería celular, fármacos biotecnológicos, vacunas, identificación de determinantes genéticos asociados a diversas enfermedades, terapia génica, medicina regenerativa, lo cual ha generado un entusiasmo creciente sobre la potencialidad de esta disciplina en la concreción de la medicina personalizada.
