Abstract
Information technology has developed the necessary elements to break the paradigms of time and space in which traditional office work was based, making it possible now that this can be done from wherever the employee is located. The aim was to analyze the information technology skills required for the development of teleworking on the basis of large companies in the city of Chihuahua. It was established as the main hypothesis that remote work in these organizations requires the handling of office applications such as text editorsand spread sheets in addition to communication networks such as local area network and Internet access. To perform such analysis was used as data collection instrument a questionnaire applied to information technology managers and teleworkers. The results show that companies have the technology of information required to develop telework and also that workers are using additional tools to the hypothesis, which should be taken into consideration to be developed as new skills for professionals of the information society.
