Abstract
The notion of mimesis proposed by the Catalan writer Josep Palau i Fabre must be closely related to the disintegration of the self and also to a process of alienation of identity, fundamental concepts of his literary work. After a brief description of this mechanism of existential interrogation, the article proposes a characterization of the female mimesis based on the analysis of the female characters that appear in the narrative work of Palau, formed by five volumes of short stories.
