Abstract
Středoasijská republika Uzbekistán je postsovětskou republikou, která se po rozpadu Sovětského svazu stala v roce 1991 nezávislým státem a byla nucena vyrovnat se nejen s přechodem k samostatnému hospodářství, nýbrž prošla transformací i v mnoha dalších směrech, od politiky až po kulturu. Tato studie podrobněji zkoumá změny v soukromém životě žen a jejich postavení v rámci rodiny.
