Abstract
در سالهای اخیر مطالعه در زمینه ارتباط متقابل دموکراسی و متغیرهای اقتصادی در بین اندیشمندان اقتصادی و علوم سیاسی افزایش یافته است. در این مطالعات دموکراسی به عنوان یک متغیر تأثیرگذار بر متغیرهای اقتصادی در مدلهای اقتصادسنجی وارد شده است و کمتر به تأثیرپذیری دموکراسی از متغیرهای اقتصادی پرداخته شده است. بنابراین، در این پژوهش به بررسی اثر متغیرهای اقتصادی بر سطح دموکراسی در کشورهای منتخب اسلامی با رویکرد اقتصادسنجی فضایی و در نظر گرفتن وابستگی فضایی جغرافیایی آنها در دوره زمانی 2012- 2001 پرداخته شده است. نتایج پژوهش نشان میدهد که تجارت خارجی اثر مثبت و معنیداری بر دموکراسی داشته است، ولی رشد اقتصادی اثر معنیداری بر دموکراسی نداشته است. همچنین، اثر مجاورت فضایی بر بهبود سطح دموکراسی در کشورهای مورد مطالعه تائید شده است ولی کمکهای خارجی دموکراسی را در کشورهای مورد مطالعه را به صورت منفی تحت تأثیر قرار داده است. به طور کلی نتایج پژوهش اثرات فضایی تجارت و مجاورت جغرافیایی بر بهبود سطح دموکراسی را تأیید میکند.
