Abstract
There are some techniques in calculating the reguler-changed flows, for instance the equation of standard phase that uses trial and error calculations . Some method then is developed from Newton-Raphson method, namely SECANT method. The purpose of this research is: (1) to identify the difference of calculation result between equation of standard phase with SECANT method and trial and error on the physical model, (2) to identify the velocity for covergent state in calculation of flow profile between equation of standard phase with SECANT method and trial and error. This research uses descriptive method by comparing numerical results pof flow prifile with those obtained from laboratory experimental outcomes, comparing iteration amount of equation of standard phase between trial and error method and SECANT method. The result shows that: (1) there is a small difference in calculation result of flow profile between the equation of standard phase with SECANT method and trial and error method with physical model; (2) SECANT method is faster in achieving the convergent state than and error method.
