Abstract
Las revistas académicas, atentas a lo que acontece alrededor, permiten
medir el estado de la profesión en un momento dado y pueden ser una
expresión orgánica del momento histórico y de su especialidad. Este texto
es una reflexión sobre la función de las revistas, atendiendo a la experiencia
de 25 años como coeditor de Historia Social; esta reflexión toma en cuenta
la consideración sobre los cambios que se han producido en el mundo,
lo que conocemos del pasado, los cambios en el método de acercarnos a
él y explicarlo, así como la forma de pensar e interpretar la historia.
