Abstract
Este estudo busca mensurar o grau de mobilidade intrageracional de renda no Brasil e em seus diversos subgrupos populacionais, no período de 1995 a 2005. Para tanto, serão considerados a abordagem axiomática da mobilidade e o instrumental dinâmico proposto por Aebi et al. (1999). Os cálculos da matriz de transção markoviana e dos índices de mobilidade indicam que o Brasil apresenta uma baixa mobilidade intrageracional de renda, sugerindo que sua estrutura social é relativamente rígida. Constatou-se, também, importantes heterogeneidades dentro de cada subgrupo, corroborando os resultados intergeracionais apontados por Ferreira e Veloso (2006).
