Abstract
In this paper the author discusses some of the new tests for comparison of two means or contrasts a posteriori, when the null hypothesis of a group of n means is rejected at an α level. The least significant difference test and also the tests of Newman, Keuls, Tukey, Scheffé and Duncan are discussed. The essential differences between them are pointed out in detail, as well as the rules applied to a particular case.
No presente artigo são discutidos vários dos testes que permitem uma comparação de duas médias ou de contrastes feitos a posteriori, quando a hipótese de nulidade foi rejeitada e nada se sabe, a priori, sôbre o comportamento dos diferentes ítens. São considerados os testes da diferença mínima significativa, de Newman, de Keuls, de Tukey, de Scheffé e de Duncan. A aplicação dos diferentes testes é feita detalhadamente e as vantagens e desvantagens dos mesmos são discutidas em seus pormenores.
