Abstract
The present work reviews public policies that regulate the conveyance of people and goods inside cities, under a legislative point of view. Such themes as sustainability and development of urban mobility are also discussed, as well as the legislative procedures that deal with specific issues of motorized collective transportation and non-motorized transportation. The paper also develops an appreciation of urban mobility in the cities, in particular the cases of Curitiba and Porto Alegre.
