Abstract
O trabalho trata dos padrões de negação de constituinte (NCt) no português brasileiro (PB), em comparação com outras línguas, analisando seis contextos: negação de itens lexicais; slogans negativos; fragmentos negativos; bare argument ellipsis; tópicos negativos; e coordenações corretivas. O artigo oferece uma proposta de análise: (i) para a distribuição assimétrica dos padrões [Neg Y] e [Y Neg] em tipos diferentes de NCt; (ii) para o bloqueio de [Neg Y Neg] no PB, apesar da disponibilidade, no nível sentencial, de uma estrutura equivalente ([Neg VP Neg]); (iii) e para a possibilidade de [Y Neg] em línguas sem [VP Neg], como o espanhol.
