Abstract
Throughout this article we intend to analyze the development of a device that we called identities generator (DIG). Since its inception, the modern Nation-State set up a particular way of dealing with the cultural ‘other’ inside its territory. In general terms it was about to establish at least two strategies: the monopoly of force by one side; and the development of a series of educational and cultural institutions that ensure a hegemonic position to strengthen a national identity project. In this paper we analyze how the last Argentine military dictatorship reused this institutional system in order to strengthen a Western and Christian identity.
